Dear new LAE member:
On behalf of the entire community, its Officers and Directors, we extend to you and your family a very warm welcome to Lake Ashuelot Estates.
We invite you to view useful detailed information on our website www.laeinc.org. A table of contents appears on the reverse side of this letter to help you identify important areas such as Board members, various committees that relate to Board functions, our dues and assessment policy, as well as deeded rules and regulations that help to keep us all working together to make Lake Ashuelot Estates a nice place to live. Additional data and links to other useful websites are included. If you do not have computer access, contact Pat or Marcellus Liotta at 603-495-6151 for a paper copy.
Our Association is very active, and we have worked hard over the past 35 years or so to maintain an attractive quality of life within the community, as well as protect the value of our collective property investments. The Association maintains approximately 11 miles of private roads, as well as the private beach, clubhouse, tennis and basketball courts and a marina that includes a boat mooring area, canoe storage and boat launch ramp. These amenities are yours to use along with our other dues-paying property owners. Rules and regulations concerning the use of these amenities are strictly enforced for the benefit of all. We urge you to become familiar with them. The Association also plays a major role in the operation and maintenance of the Ashuelot Pond, through the auspices of the Ashuelot Pond Dam Village District, a municipal district that represents a legal entity distinct from LAE Association. The dam is located across the lake from our beach.
Many activities are planned throughout the summer season. You will receive a listing of them in June of each year, and they are also posted on the website. These activities are open to you and your guests and include pancake breakfast, fun & game's day at the beach, occasional sailboat races as well as tennis get-togethers and clinic. Check the bulletin board in front of the beach house throughout the summer for changes/additions to the scheduled events
Our Annual Meeting of the membership is held on the second Saturday of July, and notices are sent to all members by mid-June. This is an important event in that individual members have an opportunity to comment on the Association affairs, to review and approve an operating budget for the following year, and to elect officers and directors who volunteer their time to manage the Association throughout the year. There are scheduled board meetings during the year, in addition to various committee meetings. We encourage new members to become familiar with the Association affairs and welcome you to take an active part by offering your interest and expertise to serve as an officer, director, or a committee member. Committees address issues such as water quality in the lake, including dam operation, roads & grounds, budget & finance, legal, insurance, security, marina and beach area operations, recreational activities, and the website.
So again, welcome to our Lake Ashuelot Estates community. We hope you and your family will enjoy yourselves for many years to come. If you ever have questions, or want to comment on a particular issue, feel free to contact any officer or director, who can put you in touch with the appropriate person to address your concerns.
